Welcome to the Springfield Area Human Resource Association

Greetings from the President

On behalf of the Board of Directors for the Springfield Area Human Resources Association (SAHRA), welcome to our website.  SAHRA is a not-for-profit association serving Human Resource Professionals in the Springfield, MO area.  Our organization is made up of more than 200 members representing a diverse group of leading area employers from a variety of industries including: education, entertainment, finance, government, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, professional services, and retail.

SAHRA is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association dedicated to human resource management with over 250,000 individual members in over 140 countries.  The Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession.  SAHRA is one of 575 affiliate chapters in the United States and subsidiary offices in China and India. As an affiliate of SHRM we gain access to additional programming and networking opportunities in our local area. SHRM chapters are autonomous organizations, so it is not automatic that you will be a member of SHRM when you join SAHRA at the national level, and vice versa. SAHRA supports SHRM in its vision to be a globally recognized authority whose voice is heard on the most pressing people management issues of the day – now and in the future. SAHRA members are encouraged to join SHRM.
